Two cameras to add to my vintage collection
I have assembled a decent camera collection over the last few years (most working), but there has been one gap I hadn't yet managed to fill. When I visited the APCS camera market in Box Hill today, I was lucky enough to find a stall selling not just one, but four of the cameras I had been searching for. The Exakta Varex. I came home with two ...
Exakta Varex IIa from 1957 and the Exakta VX IIa from 1958 (or thereabout)
I will add more detail once I have had a chance to look up the history of both cameras.
They need a bit of a clean, but it looks as though all of the parts are working, the shutter is working and the internals of the cameras are reasonably clean. They had apparently been sitting in the shed of the elderly man who owned them, not touched for many years.
Not only did I get the cameras, but they also came with cases, two different focusing screen/viewing screens for the Varex IIa, and the original manuals.
